Melbourne Victory moved up to third spot on the A-League table after edging out Western Sydney Wanderers 2-1 at Pirtek Stadium. A late Gui Finkler strike secured the three points to leave the Wanderers still looking for their first win of the campaign.

The final result was harsh on the hosts who created several goalscoring opportunities and deserved at least a point, but once again were let down by a lack of killer instinct in front of a crowd of 14,619.
