Sheffield Wednesday appoint three-man committee to act as sporting director

• Club says trio will act as ‘a three-man sporting director by committee’
Bournemouth falter after Sheffield Wednesday’s Maguire grabs draw

Sheffield Wednesday have made the former West Ham and Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder part of a three-man committee which will operate in place of a sporting director at the club. The former Hull City owner and chairman Adam Pearson has also been appointed to the committee and the pair will work alongside the current head coach Stuart Gray.

The club have said Pearson and Roeder “will form two parts of what is effectively a three-man sporting director by committee” in what will be a new structure at the club. Roeder will be tasked with working on the team, while Pearson will aim to expand the club’s business strategy. Both will operate as advisors to the club’s chairman Dejphon Chansiri.
